FAQ

DSC_0080Is the Foundation a part of the Parish?
Technically and legally, no.  The Foundation Board exists as a separate 501C(3) legal entity.  The Rector and Senior Warden of Holy Trinity Parish are, by Foundation by-law, Trustees of the Foundation.  All Trustees are active and dedicated members of the Parish and have demonstrated decades of love and care for Holy Trinity.  The only financial beneficiaries of the Foundation are Holy Trinity Parish, including individual members whose attendance at church-related conferences and trainings are paid by the Foundation, the Diocese of Florida and ECUSA.

Are the Foundation’s books audited regularly? By whom?
Yes, the Foundation’s financial records and procedures are audited every year by locally-based regional accounting firm James Moore & Co., P.L. Copies of the most recent audit as well as current tax returns are available on this site as well as in the Parish office.

Don’t you have to be wealthy to make a gift to the Foundation?
Absolutely not! Every gift, of any size and in any manner, makes a difference. We urge you to be sure your personal finances and your pledge to the Parish comes first, but beyond that, whenever you feel moved to make a gift at any level, we’ll be happy to accept it.

Shouldn’t I wait until I’m retired to plan a will and consider bequests?
On the contrary, as Episcopalians, we have a responsibility to consider our financial future early and often. Our Book of Common Prayer, on page 445, tells us: “The Minister of the Congregation is directed to instruct the people, from time to time, about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well-being of their families, and of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods, not neglecting, if they are able, to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses.”

I want to talk with someone about some specific Foundation questions. How do I do that?
Call Harvey Ward at (352) 505-5444 or email him at hlward@holytrinityepiscopalfoundation.org or contact any of the Foundation’s Trustees.

This is all very nice, but I’m trying to find Holy Trinity Episcopal Church online. Where is it?
